The Sims 3 World Adventures is the first expansion pack and it was released in 2009. When it came out honestly, I wasn’t impresssed and never bought it. I still haven’t played it, so I put it for installing so I’ll try my best for this post. I’ve read a lot on the internet and watched on youtube so I am looking forward to write about it. The main goal of this expansion pack is traveling. There are three new worlds; Al Shimara, Egypt, Champs Les Sims, France and Shang Simla, China. In Egypt are the best camera stores, the new skill is photography. Also in challenges are included mummies, which can put a deadly curse on sims. In France, making nectar is a new skill. Sims can make nectar for parties which gives positive moddlet to Sims. In challenges there are some special dungeons to explore. In China, Martial Arts are new skill, a lot things to collect and to explore. In each location you can visit, there is an adventure board outside the base camp.Adventures can be as simple as collecting a certain material and returning it to the quest giver, talking to some of the locals to convince them of another Sim’s opinion or as complex as doing some tomb raiding and exploring one of the expansion’s many dungeons. You’ll earn VISA points and ancient coins, as well as Simoleons from completing these tasks. Every Location has a general store where you can purchase supplies for adventuring. New items like dried food, the shower in a can and a variety of different quality tents make sleeping and surviving in a dungeon much easier to accomplish. After all, The Sims 3 World Adventures is fun. The main reason why I didn’t installed it is because I read that it slows down the game. I’ll try it out and let you know.
It finally installed. It is pretty late so I’ll open it tomorrow. :))
Since The Sims 2 Apartment Life was the last expansion pack of The Sims 2, from the next post I will be talking about The Sims 3!! Yaaay!!! I won’t post anything about the stuff packs in The Sims 2 because they added few new things nothing to talk about it. I hope you enjoyed in my The Sims 2 posts and that you’ll enjoy in my The Sims 3 posts!!!
The Sims 2 Apartment Life was released in 2008. and it is the last expansion of TS2 Apartment Life. New Neighborhood is Belladona Cove. Parts of the town includes slummy urban area, middle class area and luxurous socialite area. I think it is the best town in TS2 because it has a lot of new stuff; trailer park, industrial area, lofty flats, luxurious mansions. The new additions are apartments. You can’t buy them bit rent them, building can have four families. Landlord is new life state and NPC who comes every week and picks up your rent. He/She also takes care of the roaches, tend garden, fix the plumbing, etc. Also you can search for roommates via computer, newspaper and phone, they are unplayable bit you have to have a good relationship with them. New life state is also a Witch. They can be good, bad and neutral, they can cast spells and do magic things. The cutest thing ever is the possibility that toddlers can huggle each other. That is the best and cutes thing ever. By that you can tell that I am not so impressed with TS2 Apartment Life. It is okay, I like the city and few more things but nothing special.
This expansion is a great addition to the original game. You can organize your free time with different activities, which is the main goal. The new activities are tossing ball with family, practicing ballet, restoring cars, build train sets, etc. Also there are new skills ; pottery and sewing. I like the new neighbourhood: Desiderata Valley with lots of new community lots such as; gallery, sport park, community kitchen, etc. With 10 new hobbies (cuisine, film and literature, games, tinkering, science, arts and crafts, fitness, nature, sports, Music and dance.) you can really have fun with your Sim. I like the new Oceanography career among Architectural, Dance, Entertainment, Inteligence and other. New life state is Genie who can grant three wishes to your Sim. At the end I think TS2 Free time is fun with all new activities and worth having.
This expansion was released in 2007. I couldn’t wait. I am such a weather fan. I love different seasons and that is all I wanted, rain, because I love rain, snow where you can make snowman, snow angels, etc. Also, I like new activities for exp. Snowball fight, chasing fireflies, jumping in leaf piles. Another great thing that I like is new life state; PlantSim. I find it amusing when they reproduct with spores. Also they don’t have the same needs as normal sims. You have to watch out so your sim doesn’t get sunburn, heatstroke, freezing and other. Sims have to wear clothes appropriate with weather. New neighborhood in this expansion is Riverblossom Hills. It is mostly countrside decorated with some new community lots and funny thing is that Riverblossom Hills doesn’t have summer but two times winter in the cyclus. Great thing is that now you can garden normal, I like it because I love flowers and crops. New NPC is penguin. They are so cute while they’re hopping in the snow in front of your house. I recomend this expansion because it brings more reality in the game. Because it was all the same without different weather.
The Sims 2 Bon Voyage was released in 2007.
It is a great expansion for simmers that got bored with regular life of their sims. With this expansion you can book a vacation to three new locations; Takemizu Village, Twikkii Island and Three Lakes. Each of them has special things you can do while you’re there. Also there are three accomodations you can be in; Vacation House, (you previously have to buy one) Hotel, (price depends on quality) and Campgrounds (although I don’t recomend you take it). The main goal of a succesfull vacation is going on community lots and spend time there. If you chose Twikkii Island you can go on beach and sunbathe, watch waves, and dig sand. In sand you can find jewlery, treasure or collectibles. While you are on vacation you can learn their ways to bow, new dances and eat their specialties. The thing I don’t like is that you can’t bring babys, toddlers and pets to vacation. And there is new creature in TS2 Bon Voyage; Bigfoot. Bigfoot can be found in secret lot Hidden Burrow in Three Lakes. But again I recomend you don’t. He looks creapy. Also I like the new woohoo places such as tent, sauna, hammock… And now you can go on real honeymoon. I like TS2 Bon Voyage but as lazy as I am in nature I make my sims lazy so when they go on vacation they’re just laying on beach or woohooing. Because it takes time to find collectibles and learn some new skills and I just get tired. I definitely recomend TS2 BV it is a great and interesting expansion but not for the lazy ones.
The Sims 2 Pets was also released in 2006. This is my favorite expansion ever, also in TS3 and still waiting it in TS4. So I love pets especially dogs, less cats, but either way I love this expansion and I thank to developers who made it. My family never let me have a dog so I put one in every houshold, because I love them but can’t have it. Still missing the horses in TS2, but I am happy just with this. I have to tell that the graphic isn’t the best, and that some breeds doesn’t look same in nature… Either way it is a great expansion and my favorite, you have to feed, give love and train your dogs. It may be a little difficult to breed dogs because they have to have a great relationship with the owner and the dog you want to breed it with. And the little dogs are so cute :3. Also dogs can get a job, three careers actually. You can teach dogs many tricks, and with that they progress in their job. I don’t know much about cats because I rearly play with it.
I think that TS2 Pets is worth buying because you can’t live without men’s best friend in life, neither in The Sims.
The Sims 2 Open for Business was released in 2006. Since then it became my second favorite expansion. Not because you can get rich by opening your own flower store or souvenir shop, but because the all fun you can get by playing to get rich. You start at the bottom at your own house or buying some community lot. With little skill that you have you start making toys, flower bouquets, or you start baking cakes. Also you can sell anything in your shop, such as chlotes, electronic, robots, etc. Then numerous people come to your little store and buy things, then you earn money, and than you can expand your store, and even hire employees if the job gets too much for your sim. If you hire employees you became boss to them, you can tell them what to do and fire them if they don’t do they job. I love the new stuff that came with this expansion, new shelves, display cases, cash registers,… The thing I like the most is the beauty salon chair, and the face that sims gets when I turn him/her from a nice man/women, to a desaster, I just love torturing sims. 😀 The great addition are Talent badges. You can get them from: sales, register, restocking, cosmetology, flower arranging, robotics and toy making. That is a great thing when you hire employees and you can see who has the badge from what you need. In my opinion The Sims 2 Open for Business is definitely worth having in your colection of TS2, because you have hours and hours of fun until you get to your business empire.
